Betsy Kraat is running for NY State Assembly in District 102, which covers all of Greene and Schoharie counties and parts of Albany, Columbia, Delaware, Otsego and Ulster counties. Betsy is a unique candidate–a single mom of two teenage boys (one with autism), a recent graduate from Fordham University’s MSW program, a progressive. She currently lives in Section 8 housing. Betsy looks more like the average resident in her district and will fight for them, not big donors. While Betsy will work for fully funded public schools, the New York Health Act, affordable housing, collective bargaining including domestic workers and independent contractors, her district has historically voted against its own self-interest. Her opponent is a well-funded incumbent Trumpian Republican who gives lip service to his constituents while voting against their best interest.
